Dialogue with Dr. Jane Goodall – Integrating Biodiversity into Corporate Responsibility

We are delighted to announce the successful hosting of the “Dialogue with Dr. Jane Goodall: Integrating Biodiversity into Corporate Responsibility” event! This collaborative effort was organized in partnership with The Jane Goodall Institute Hong Kong and Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong).

During Dr. Jane Goodall’s return to Hong Kong after six years, she engaged with more than 200 business leaders during the event at HKU, emphasizing the cultivation of hope and immediate actions needed for the environment and biodiversity. She also advocated for collaboration among commercial sector, academia, NGO and government bodies to drive conservation and sustainability efforts.

We kicked off with an insightful welcoming remark by Prof. Hongbin Cai, Dean and Chair of Economics, HKU Business School. Following with a thought-provoking panel discussion with delved into the criticality of biodiversity, with Prof. Guojun He, our Institute Director, and Mr. Ericson Chan, Group Chief Information and Digital Officer of Zurich Insurance Group, and Chairman of the Board of the Jane Goodall Institute Hong Kong, examining it from conservation, business and academic perspectives. Real-life examples and innovative ideas were shared to integrate biodiversity into business decisions and ESG strategies, emphasizing our interconnectedness for coexistence.
