We invite PhD students to apply to present and discuss their current research with a focus on Governance and Sustainability. The workshop will take place in person from May 20 to May 21, 2025 (Tuesday – Wednesday), for the full day in Hong Kong.

Submissions are open for both theoretical and empirical work related to Governance and Sustainability. Please submit your paper (PDF), CV, and a recommendation from your main advisor to esgri@hku.hk by February 27, 2025 (Thursday). Applicants must be enrolled as PhD students at the time of the workshop. The program committee’s decision will be announced in March 2025.

For all selected students, we will provide lunches during both workshop days (May 20-21) and dinner on the first day (May 20).

For selected students who are not currently residing or studying in Hong Kong, we will provide:

(i) two nights of accommodation (double occupancy, May 19-20) near the HKU campus, and

(ii) a travel allowance of up to HK$5,000 to cover the cost of the cheapest air/rail fare on a direct route between the participant’s hometown and Hong Kong, on a reimbursement basis.
